ISGT Early Childhood Program

Accredited in 2009 by NCA CASI (North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, and ODE certified, The Islamic School of Greater Toledo's Early Childhood program has successfully operated for 13 years. The goal of the Early Childhood program is to make a child's first school experience fun and challenging while maintaining a strong emphasis on Kindergarten Readiness and Islamic education.
ISGT serves Preschool - 2nd grade and is the full time school of the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo. The school facility is exceptionally maintained and surrounded by beautiful grounds. There is a playground that serves children of all ages, as well as plenty of green space for the students to walk and explore.
In the Early Childhood Program, Quran, Arabic,Islamic Studies and Salat are part of our daily instruction. Students also participate in a weekly physical education class at the YMCA and are visited by the Wood County Book Mobile. Our curriculum is enriched by in school programs and field trips throughout the school year.
There are numerous volunteering opportunities for parents in the classroom and with the PTO. ISGT's Parent Teacher Organization sponsors many events throughout the year including movie nights, Sunday coffee hours, and fundraising activities..
Bus transportation, afterschool care and financial aid are available.

Mrs. Amy

Ms. Amy is in her fourteenth year of teaching Preschool and PreKindergarten at the Islamic School of Greater Toledo. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Toledo and is a state-certified teacher. Ms. Amy previously taught at our weekend school readiness class at the Islamic Center. She and her family are longtime members. Ms. Amy is married to David Shelton and they have two children, David and Sofia.

Mrs. Manal
Ms. Manal is celebrating her 15th year with The Islamic School of Greater Toledo. She is an original founding staff member of the school. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and (ESL) English as a Second Language degree from the Mansoura University in Egypt. She additionally holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Toledo. Her educational forte spans Early Childhood Education and Development through Junior and High School academics from the Toledo Public Schools. She has received several teacher-service awards such as the Toledo Association for the Education of Young Children (2007) award as Outstanding Kindergarten through 3rd Grade Teacher. Ms. Manal is also the Science Club leader and Safety Policy Coordinator. Her dedication to teaching academic excellence includes a rigorous curriculum in Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies for all her students.
